Tonight's Jackson Kurtz is here with what they talked about tonight, Jackson. Well, chris for now, Wyandotte County will keep its mask mandate after leaders were deadlocked and voting to adopt CDC recommended guidelines that would allow vaccinated people to remove masks indoors. Now, officials with the Unified Government of Canon City, Kansas and Wyandotte County debated for over an hour or whether or not to allow folks to follow those recommended CDC guidelines. Ultimately tabling their next vote to lift the mask mandate until their next meeting. Health officials noted that seven out of 10 people are not vaccinated and recommended that the current health order would not would stay until vaccine numbers go up. People we spoke with say if the mask mandate would be lifted, they'll still choose to wear a mask in public. Um, I personally would like to keep my mask on. Um, a lot of people don't social distance even outside here working in retail. I definitely feel a little bit more comfortable with it on at work. And the unified governments next meeting will be May 27th. Windham County is the only county in the Metro to not lift the mask mandate in the studio tonight. Jackson kurtz, KMBC nine News.
