The Act Party today plans to ask Parliament to debate a motion to declare China s oppression of the Uighur ethnic minority an act of genocide .
Its motion would ask MPs to vote on whether human rights abuses in the Chinese region of Xinjiang amount to genocide, a move that could compel the Government to take stronger action in condemning the nation, Stuff reports.

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have decided not to hold any public meeting in the NA-249 constituency of Karachi in connection with the upcoming by-election for the National Assembly seat.
The PPP had earlier announced that it would hold a big public meeting in the constituency on Monday (today). A statement issued on Sunday quoted Sindh Information and Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah as saying that the public meeting had been called off on the direction of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. ....

NH residents must change to how telephone calls are dialed

CONCORD â New Hampshire residents may have recently heard that how they place calls to their family and friends will be changing.
Instead of dialing seven digits to make a phone call to anywhere in the state, residents will soon have to dial 10 digits.
Last summer, the Federal Communications Commission designated 988 as the three-digit number to use when calling the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. This three-digit phone number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline goes into effect in July 2022.
Why does that change how New Hampshire places phone calls? There are two reasons: New Hampshire residents calling from a landline telephone currently dial seven digits to make a phone call to anywhere in the state; and residents and businesses in Portsmouth have telephone numbers beginning with 988. ....

More than 2,600 people have signed an online petition calling on Mars New Zealand to bring back Pods, after the company announced the beloved Kiwi treat would be disappearing off the shelves.
The beloved Kiwi snack that s been a go-to treat for many a road trip and movie night is being discontinued, according to manufacturer Mars New Zealand.
