GILES COUNTY, Va. – Giles County authorities say the abduction of a 2-year-old from a church nursery last Sunday was a random act and that the kidnappers did not know the boy.
The Giles County Sheriff’s Office confirms that the woman charged with Noah Trout’s abduction, Nancy Fridley, was a complete stranger to Noah Trout and the Trout family.
Prior to allegedly kidnapping the toddler on Sunday morning from Riverview Baptist Church, Fridley is said to have visited to others churches which are also located in the town of Narrows. The sheriff’s office said she also visited those two churches a month before the alleged kidnapping earlier this week. They believe Fridley had also traveled to other churches outside the area prior to Sunday’s incident.
