Former Oregon House speaker and current Clackamas Community College board member Dave Hunt was cited by Portland police in an undercover sex traffic sting operation in April.
Contacted by the Portland Tribune, which broke the news, on Monday Hunt said, “I don’t think I should talk about that.”
Hunt’s attorney, Micheal De Munis, said, “Mr. Hunt denies the allegations, but respects the criminal justice process and will refrain from saying more until he has his opportunity in court.”
Clackamas Community College said Hunt was taking a leave from the board.

Dave Hunt, a former speaker of the Oregon House who currently lobbies for powerful interests in Salem, is accused by Portland Police of soliciting sex from an undercover officer. The charges were first reported by Pamplin Media.
Hunt, a Democrat, lives in Milwaukie and represented portions of northern Clackamas County in the legislature for a decade. From 2009 to 2011, he served as speaker of the House. Before that, he served one term as House majority leader.
He was one of eight men arrested by the Portland Police Bureau’s Human Trafficking Unit undercover operation last month. According to a news release, officers posted decoy ads online and Hunt, along with the others arrested, responded to arrange payment for sexual acts.
