Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) continues its 2020-21 virtual season with Talk to Me Like the Rain and Let Me Listen by Tennessee Williams, directed by Dexter Singleton. All performances will be presented online, beginning on Thursday evening February 18 at 7:30pm, and continuing through Sunday, February 21 at 2:00pm.
CRT presents this one act play as part one in a three-part series by Tennessee Williams. The remaining one acts are: This Property is Condemned which opens March 18th and, And Tell Sad Stories of the Death of Queens which opens April 22. These one act plays are performed by an all student cast with talk back session for all three titles in this series. ....

The COVID-19 pandemic created a silver lining for two University of Hawaiʻi theatre productions temporarily halted from in-person performances. The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (
KCACTF) Region 8 is normally held at different sites on the West Coast, making it difficult and expensive for
UH productions to appear. However, this year’s online festival has allowed the productions to perform virtually.

IC Senior Wins top Honors in Kennedy Center Competition

An Illinois College senior will gain national recognition this spring after earning Kennedy Center honors this month.
Jordan Hall was recognized at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival for excellence in leadership and theatrical lighting design.
Hall attended the regional program virtually from his hometown of Fairview Heights while on holiday break from I.C. January 6
th through the 9
th. He says overwhelmed was the only word he could use to describe the moment his name was announced as the winner.
Hall was chosen as the recipient for the ASPIRE Leadership Fellowship Program after competing against students from across the Midwest. He will gain national recognition for the honor as he represents Illinois College at the national conference to be held virtually this spring. ....

Culver-Stockton Theatre Department Gets National Honor
Culver-Stockton’s fall mainstage production, “
The Blind,” was made available on YouTube during the fall semester from October 23-31. Now it has been chosen for presentation during one of eight regional festivals as part of the Kennedy Center’s American College Theatre Festival, a national theatre program that recognizes and celebrates the finest and most diverse work produced by colleges and universities across the country.
This year’s festival in Region V, which consists of Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota, will be virtual. C-SC’s production, one of 12 that was selected, is being offered on YouTube from now through January 23. The week-long festival also offers competitions and workshops in multiple areas. ....
