The village council gave its consent Monday night to an intergovernmental agreement with the college that will allow village police to respond to calls from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. at the college campus, 1200 W. Algonquin Road, on the southern end of the village. ....

The site used to house manufacturer Weber-Stephen Products and became vacant in stages, starting in 2018 and ending in late 2019. It comprises the addresses 200-350 E. Daniels Road, 200 S. Hicks Road and 1 S. Sellstrom Drive, and it s bordered to the north by the Union Pacific railroad.
Midwest Industrial Funds plans to redevelop the site into two industrial buildings a westerly building of 275,388 square feet and an easterly building of 153,043 square feet with parking lots and interior truck docks between the buildings. ....

The plan entails the construction of an asphalt path that will connect the existing bike route on Smith Street to the path in the Deer Grove Forest Preserve. A new crossing and pedestrian signal will be added at Dundee Road and Smith Street, and Smith Street will be signed as a bike route between Dundee Road and Cunningham Drive.
