Mother of slain Struthers boy indicted on weapons offense | News, Sports, Jobs

YOUNGSTOWN Alexis M. Schneider, 23, of Struthers, mother of Rowan Sweeney, was indicted Thursday on a charge of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, as was Yarnell C. Green Jr., 30, of Youngstown. Rowan is the boy, 4, who was shot to death Sept. 21, 2020, in the Perry Street home in Struthers where his mother and Green were living. Schneider and Green also were shot, but survived. Three men are facing charges that could include the death penalty in Rowan’s death, the shooting of Schneider, Green and two other people; plus armed robbery and other offenses. Schneider and Green were charged with the weapons offense March 21 after police found a gun under the front seat of the car near the center console after an 11:13 p.m. traffic stop on Dewey Avenue on the South Side. Schneider was in the front passenger seat, and Green was driving.

Calls Saturday: 6:03 p.m., all-terrain vehicle accident, Leeper Road. 12:37 p.m., unconscious motorist drove into a ditch, Lashley Road; Senecaville EMS/FD, Seneca Lake ranger and State Highway Patrol. 8:05 a.m., former employee threatened to kill a woman and her father-in-law if they didn t pay him $4,000 by 7 p.m., Morgan Road. Calls Friday: 9:44 p.m., two men, ages 63 and 33, stopped breathing, Eighth Street Road; United, Cassell Station EMS/FD, Cambridge FD, Guernsey County coroner and deputies.

Police search for missing Greece teen

Created: April 08, 2021 02:18 PM ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) Police are asking for the public s help to find a missing 14-year-old girl. Police say Abigail Abi West ran away from the Villa of Hope on Dewey Avenue in Greece on March 28 around 8 p.m. West ran away with another youth who has since returned, according to police. Authorities say West is with an adult man in the city of Rochester. West is 5 1 tall and weighs 165 lbs. She was last seen wearing black leggings and a black sweatshirt with the NASA logo on it.  Anyone with information on West s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
