Battle Creek VA Medical Center begins administering vaccines today

BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – COVID-19 vaccinations begin today at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Battle Creek, one of 113 VA medicals centers across the United States selected to receive the first limited supply of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.
Veterans Affairs officials say sites were identified based on need for the vaccine according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s 1A prioritization, which includes healthcare workers, and capacity to store the vaccine at -20 degrees Celsius.
Battle Creek VA Medical Center Director Michelle Martin told WWMT-TV, “Receiving the vaccine is like having hope delivered. As vaccine supplies increase, our ultimate goal is to offer COVID-19 vaccination to all veterans and employees who want to be vaccinated.” ....

LVHN-Pocono gets COVID-19 vaccine, Moderna s arrives in Wilkes-Barre
COVID-19 vaccinations continue to spread across the commonwealth and into the Poconos as the effort to combat the coronavirus via inoculations gains momentum.
Lehigh Valley Health Network-Pocono received its first shipment of the highly-anticipated Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine on Friday, Dec. 18, and physicians immediately began doling it out to staff members that very day.
Director of Cardiopulmonary Services Francine Rich-Benton was the first to receive her shot, after which she signed the hospital network’s “Doing My Part” poster to show her commitment to fighting the pandemic.
“It was so exciting to be a part of something so  big, that we need so desperately,” Rich-Benton said. “It’s a great feeling to motivate family and friends and the community. I wanted to show them this is important, and don’t wait.” ....
