Ex-Hopatcong mayor Lundin fined maximum possible by NJ ethics panel


Prior to being named head of the soil conservation district in March 2009, Lundin was a longtime environmental advocate who headed the Sussex County Open Space Committee and helped spearhead preservation efforts along Lake Hopatcong. He also served on Hopatcong s school board.
The state Attorney General s Office first accused him of the violations in a 17-page complaint in October 2017. He resigned from his $71,304 position as head of the soil conservation district in March 2018.
The complaint detailed personal trips by Lundin in state vehicles totaling thousands of miles that weren t accounted for. It also detailed his use of state computers to store files related to his private law practice, visit dating websites, and download at least 122 prurient images of nude or naked males. ....

SLO County judges to determine legitimacy of Judge Guerrero's ruling

The 2nd District Court of Appeal determined this week that the San Luis Obispo County Superior Court Appellate Division will hear the Attorney General and District Attorney’s appeals of Judge Matthew Guerrero’s recusal of all county prosecutors in the cases of a group of Black Lives Matter protestors who detained people on Highway 101 last July.
In early January, state and local prosecutors filed two appeals each, one in the felony case against Robert Lastra the protester who allegedly smashed a car window onto a 4-year-old boy and one in the misdemeanor filings against the remaining six defendants. Generally, the 2nd District Court of Appeal hears felony appeals while a panel of three SLO County Superior Court judges rules on misdemeanor appeals. ....
