They will be inducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Louisville High School, according to a news release.
Biery graduated from Louisville High in 1958 and attended the Ohio State University. He graduated from the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1964. He served as the chief of radiology for 20 years and chairman of the department of clinical studies for eight years at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.
He has published more than 90 research papers and co-authored several radiology textbooks. Today, he is retired professor emeritus of veterinary radiology of the University of Pennsylvania. He has worked with the charity Seeing Eye Inc., which raises and trains dogs for blind people. He has received numerous awards over the years, including the Ohio State University’s Distinguished Veterinary Alumnus Award. ....

Dr. Donald Russell Lundy Jr. or “Doc”, 81, of Muncy, went to be with his Lord on April 21, 2021.
Born July 12, 1939, he was the beloved son of the late Dr. Donald R. Sr. and Emily (Worley) Lundy of Hughesville.
“Doc” was a well-known and highly respected veterinarian serving Lycoming County for 50 years. He established Twin Hills Veterinary Hospital in Muncy in 1963. Bovine medicine was a large part of his practice early on but as the rural dairy farms diminished, his small animal practice expanded.
He had a natural gift for doctoring animals which became the hallmark of his career. “Doc” didn’t require high-tech diagnostics to understand his patients and among many farmers, he was known as “the best damn cow doctor around.” ....

The blood-brain barrier shields the central nervous system, which comprises the brain and spinal cord, from the immune system.
In a new study, researchers have hypothesized that if this barrier is compromised, it could cause inflammation in the brain, which may, in turn, trigger schizophrenia.
To investigate this relationship, they used cells isolated from healthy individuals and from people with a rare genetic disorder that increases the risk of schizophrenia. ....
