(WTOC) - The Port Wentworth Police Department is looking for a person of interest in connection with a homicide case on Miriam Jordan Road. According to Maj. Lee Sherrod, the police department is looking for Shawn Antonio Bolden, Jr. and he was driving a newer model dark blue Toyota Camry. Police are asking everyone to avoid the area while they are actively investigating. This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.

Hwy 21 at Coldbrook Station Circle and Cook Street will start seeing improvements by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) as early as the end of April. At the request of the City of Port Wentworth, GDOT will install a Reduced Conflict U-Turn (RCUT) in this area. The RCUT will prevent motorists on Cook Street and Coldbrook Station Circle from crossing Ga. Hwy 21 and entering the median to turn left onto Ga. Hwy 21. GDOT will be placing sturdy, refelctive vertical posts lined in the median in this area, which will require these motorists to turn right onto Ga. Hwy 21.

PORT WENTWORTH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Port Wentworth Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured two people. It happened at Days Inn & Suites on Traveler’s Way late Monday night. Port Wentworth Police say a gun was fired during a fight in one of the hotel rooms, where they found one victim. After arriving at the scene, they were then dispatched to a second location at Dunkin’ Donuts where they found another victim. Officers believe this was an isolated event.
