Cementation Americas director Roy Slack has been awarded a Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) fellowship.
Slack was presented with the award at the convention award ceremony April 29.

The fellowship award was established by CIM council in 1986 to recognize distinguished members for their achievements and contributions to the CIM and the mining industry in general.
Slack is the founder and former president of Cementation Americas and still serves on the company board and executive committee.
He served as CIM president for the 2019-20 term and continues to work with the CIM on various committees, as well as on the executive of the Northern Gateway (North Bay) branch of the CIM.

Engineering group Murray & Roberts (M&R) says it has secured yet another hefty contract in Australia, with subsidiary Clough awarded a R1.1bn contract for the expansion of the Tallawarra gas power station in New South Wales.
The announcement of a contract for the engineering, procurement and construction scope of the Tallawarra station follows an announcement in June that the group had secured a R2.3bn contract with the Newmont Corporation, the world s largest gold producer.

JSE-listed engineering and construction group Murray & Roberts (M&R) could see its order book grow to about R80 billion by its financial year-end in June.
This is further good news for the group, following it reporting in March this year that it reached a record order book of R60.5 billion at end-December.
