Missing 72-year-old man found dead near Poconos lake: police Updated 6:49 AM; The body of a missing 72-year-old Lackawanna County man was found near Brady’s Lake in Coolbaugh Township in Monroe County, police said. Pocono Mountain Regional Police Chief Christopher Wagner confirmed Sunday the body of Ronald Nicholas was found but didn’t provide further information about what might have led to the death. It’s also unclear specifically when the body was recovered; Monroe County Coroner Tom Yanak didn’t have further details to provide. “The investigation is on-going and additional details will be released as the investigation unfolds,” the chief said in an email.

Ronald Nicholas found dead near Brady s Lake after 17-day search

Ronald Nicholas, the 72-year-old grandfather and outdoorsman missing from Lackawanna County, was found dead near Brady s Lake Sunday morning, Pocono Mountain Regional Police said. Sunday s announcement concludes a 17-day search that enlisted the help of helicopters, search dogs, fire fighters and police officers and was punctuated by moments of hope. Nicholas spent Easter with his family before returning home April 5. Days passed, and his family didn t hear from him again, said his son, Aaron Nicholas. They reported him missing April 8. He s usually pretty savvy at putting hearts and stars on all the grandkid photos that we post on a family thread, Aaron said. We hadn t seen anything.  

Police say missing Lackawanna County man found dead

Updated: 4:38 PM EDT April 25, 2021 MONROE COUNTY, Pa. Pocono Mountain Regional Police Chief Chris Wagner announced on Sunday that Ronald Nicholas, 72, of Clifton Township, was found dead in the area of Bradys Lake in Coolbaugh Township. Nicholas had been missing since April 5. State police, other officials, and volunteers organized several searches in the 27,000 acres of woods around the lake after fishermen found his vehicle there earlier this month.  Nicholas s dog Cole was found walking across the dam at Bradys Lake on April 13.
