Lincolnshire health bosses said there have been no hospital admissions with flu cases during this season, which can be put down to the national lockdown, social distancing and face coverings being widely worn.
However, this doesn’t mean the virus has completely disappeared, it is just not spreading as fast.
This comes as Public Health England has not recorded a single case of flu so far this year through routine surveillance tests, despite it being the height of the usual flu season. ....

Students in secondary schools will have to do two rapid flow COVID-19 tests a week when they return to school on March 8.
Home testing will occur twice weekly for secondary school pupils, though no testing has yet been planned for primary schools.
All schools in England will reopen on March 8 as part of the first step in Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s roadmap out of lockdown.
Schools will be able to decide a phased return to class during that week, though attendance will be compulsory when schools reopen with penalty fines for those who don’t go back. ....
