On January 25th, 2020, the United States Supreme Court upheld the Trump Administrations public charge rule, allowing it to take effect. The rule, designed to protect American taxpayers from having to finance the economic needs of millions of immigrants flooding into the United States made it more difficult for them to acquire a green card and permanent residency should they use, or were found likely to use, taxpayer financed benefits such as food stamps, public housing and Medicaid, and thus becoming a public charge.

The federal cabinet has waived income tax on profits that foreign commercial banks are earning on over $3 billion worth of loans that they lent to Pakistan during the past one year.
The government has obtained these loans to retain foreign exchange reserves in double digits that could have slid below $10 billion after repayments of foreign debt, including to Saudi Arabia. ....
