New Delhi: Actor Satya Manjrekar is all set to make his digital debut with war-epic 1962: The War in the Hills, directed by none other than his father, Mahesh Manjrekar. Previously, the father-son duo has worked together in Marathi cinema (like Aai and FU: Friendship Unlimited) and Hindi movie Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi. The young star will now be seen essaying the role of Gopal, the youngest soldier in the battalion of the C-company.

MUMBAI — Actor Annup Sonii, who has ruled TV screens for years, will now be a part of the upcoming war-epic “1962: The War In The Hills.” He will essay the role of Major Ranjith Khatar, a competitive army officer and a dear friend of Major Suraj Singh (Abhay Deol). Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, the film also stars Mahie Gill, Sumeet Vyas, and Akash Thosar, amongst many other prominent actors - details of which will be announced soon. It is inspired by true events and narrates an untold story of bravery and valour and how an army of 125 Indians stood against 3000 Chinese.

 Popular TV actor Annup Sonii has been roped in to feature in Disney+ Hotstar series "1962: The War in the Hills", the makers announced on Tuesday.
Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, the show fronted by Abhay Deol, is inspired by true events that happened in November 1962 as it narrates the untold tale of bravery and valour of how an Army of 125 Indians stood against 3,000 Chinese.
In the series set against the backdrop of the 1962 India-China War, Sonii will essay the role of Major Ranjith Khatar, a competitive Army officer and a dear friend of Major Suraj Singh (Deol).

With music composed by Hitesh Modak, the heart-touching music video is an emotional narration of the many sacrifices of a soldier who sets off to serve his country without fearing for his own life.

Streaming service Disney+ Hotstar on Tuesday announced that its upcoming series "1962: The War In The Hills", starring Abhay Deol in the lead, will premiere on February 26. The streaming platform and Deol unveiled the first teaser of the show to mark India's 72nd Republic Day.
"No better occasion than our Republic Day to salute our jawaans and warriors who tirelessly protect us round the clock. As a tribute, I am happy to release the first look of '1962: The War In The Hills'," Deol said in a statement.
