The freeway is expected to reopen by Monday morning, but construction is part of a 6-year project which will be completed by Summer 2024.
TxDOT plans to demolish the old northbound bridge on West Loop 610 at its intersection with the Southwest Freeway. A new southbound bridge opened Monday.
The project, which began in 2018, also involved rebuilding the northbound and southbound Loop 610 bridges over I-69.
