A referral has been made to the police watchdog after officers failed to answer a 999 call from the property where four bodies were later found.
The jury was told Mihai Hurmuz-Irimia used two blades in the frenzied attack, days after the couple's wedding anniversary.
"Please save me," a panicked voice pleaded after calling 999. "I have killed a woman. Locals surrounded my house and they will kill me."
