The Waipukurau Library has been closed indefinitely as it was deemed earthquake prone. Despite strengthening as part of structural and renovation works in 2015, the Waipukurau Library, built in the late 1940s, has been closed indefinitely. The total cost of the work on the library was about $557,872, as well as additional costs incurred in establishing a temporary facility.
