Canton's Total Living Center's new assistant director is Ben Kariuki of Ghana

The native of Mombasa, Ghana, said he grew up enamored with America.
"Those were the Michael Jordan days," he said with a smile. "It seemed like my friends always had the good stuff - the Air Jordans, so I associated the United States with good things."
Kariuki said his crush on America only grew stronger after a neighbor moved to the U.S. and acquired a green card, and when he learned that one of his father's friends attended the University of Illinois.
"The majority of people who go never come back," he said.
