£229 court bill for Whitehaven shoplifter

Victim: The B&M store the defendant stole from
A twenty-four-year-old Whitehaven man has been fined by magistrates after he admitted stealing a set of headphones worth £30.
Aaron Brian Jones, from Coach Road, Whitehaven, committed the theft at the town's B&M Homestore in Flatt Walks, Workington Magistrates' Court were told.
According to the official court record, he stole JVC headphones on Tuesday, March 2.
Magistrates imposed an £80 fine and ordered the defendant - represented by defence lawyer Mike Woolaghan - to pay £30 compensation as well as £85 costs and a £34 victim surcharge.
