May 10, 2021 A SERIES of community events celebrating Liberation Day took place over the weekend, after the usual anniversary proceedings were restricted by the pandemic. The 'Lib Stream' event was held at Gorey Castle on Saturday night to celebrate the 76th anniversary of Liberation Day. Sunday May 9, 2021, 4:22 PM People in Jersey who lived through Jersey's darkest hour have received parcels to help them get into the spirit of Liberation Day. Around 600 boxes were loaded on to vintage vehicles and delivered by hand to islanders who were alive during the Occupation. The boxes were decorated by students at Jersey College For Girls and St Michael's School, before being packed with treats.
