Rotocon announces wine label design competition winners

Rotocon has revealed two winners of its first wine label design competition in partnership with the Tshwane University of Technology’s (TUT) Department of Visual Communication, Faculty of Arts & Design. First prize of R30 000 (1523.67 USD) went to Mpho Moema, a fourth-year student, and in a surprise twist during the winning label selection, Rotocon also decided to award Jimmy Libese, a third-year student with a runner-up prize of R15 000 (761.84 USD).

Herma InNo-Liner System wins Australian packaging award

Herma InNo-Liner system has won the Australasian Packaging Innovation & Design Award (PIDA), in the ‘Sustainable Packaging Design – Labeling’ category. The system also won a silver medal in the ‘Labeling & Decoration Design of the Year’ category.   The competition is organized by the Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) every year. The InNo-Liner system was submitted by Herma's Australian sales partner, the Result Group. Its managing director Michael Dossor presented the award to Martin Kühl, who heads Herma’s labeling machines division, at Interpack.

Xaar has launched a new printhead capable of jetting aqueous inks and functional fluids whilst also allowing the use of high viscosity and high pigment loaded fluids. This is expected to lead to the development of aqueous inks with more vibrant colors, superior adhesion properties and print process simplification. Xaar’s Aquinox technology, aQ Power, is built on the company’s ImagineX platform, claimed to provide a radically new approach to how water‐based fluids are jetted reliably in an industrial environment.
