The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program, a prestigious program bringing accomplished mid-career professionals from countries around the world to host universities throughout the United States, returns to UC Davis as 12 Fellows from 12 different countries arrive on campus. During the 2023-24 academic year, the UC Davis Humphrey Fellows will focus on strengthening their professional skills, improving their leadership abilities and engaging in meaningful collaboration and connections across campus. 

Despite shouts of “stop the cuts” from students, West Virginia University’s board voted Friday to make wide-ranging reductions to academic programs and faculty positions as it addresses a $45 million budget shortfall. The state's largest university will drop 28 of its majors, or about 8%, and cut at least 143 of the faculty positions, or around 5%. Among the cuts are one-third of education department faculty and the entire world language department, although seven language teaching positions are being retained and students can take some language courses as electives...

Julie Greenwood, vice dean for Educational Initiatives in EdPlus at Arizona State University (ASU), will join the University of California, Davis, as its next dean of Continuing and Professional Education (CPE). Greenwood will start on Oct. 16. Susan Catron announced last year she would retire this fall after five years as dean of CPE and more than 20 years in leadership roles at UC Davis.
