Punch Newspapers Sections Published 15 May 2021 Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development said it has extended development plans to 30 communities across different Local Government Areas of the state. The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr Idris Salako, stated that the ministry prepared local/ action plans for the communities through the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority. A statement by the Assistant Director, Public Affairs, Mukaila Sanusi, on Friday titled ‘LASG extends development plans to 30 communities’ said this was to ensure that no part of the state was without a plan. The communities that had their local/ action plans prepared , it stated, were Lafiaji Action Area Plan(2021-2031) in Eko District, Abule Oja Action Area Plan (2021-2031), Ajiwe Action Area Plan(2021-2031), Review of Maiyegun and Action Area Plan of an Extension to Aparakaja Casia/Abiodun Dada.

The Lagos State government said it would upgrade 56 roads and reconstruct drains, street lightings, Massey Children Hospital as part of the ongoing Action Area Plan to reconstruct/upgrade roads and other infrastructure in the state. Mrs Aramide Adeyoye, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, said this at a stakeholders’ meeting on reconstruction/upgrading of Adeniji Adele Road, Oke Polo/Tata streets on Lagos Island. x The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event was organised by the Lagos State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure. Adeyoye said the infrastructure renewal/upgrade in the state began about 20 months ago, but that the Lagos Island Area North Action Plan, to upgrade infrastructure and tame flooding on the axis, started six months ago.
