PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 2,093 new Covid-19 cases on Monday (June 20), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 4,542,705 since the pandemic began.
According to the health department’s record, this is for the second time in this month that the number of cases increased above 30 in a day.
The total death toll in the country is now at 5,24,855. In India, the first death due to the COVID pandemic was reported in March 2020.
According to the Union Health Ministry, the total COVID-19 confirmed cases in India reached 4,32,96,692, while 15 more fatalities pushed the death toll to 5,24,855 as of Sunday.
An increase of 5,045 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The active cases comprise 0.15 per cent of the total infections, the ministry said.
