while everybody has a right to offer an amendment. i think if we are serious about avoiding default, we probably have to defeat those amendments, but they are colleagues who are rightly very upset about provisions of this bill. for instance, there is a fast truck of oil pipeline in this bill that s really egregious, and i have colleagues on the senate that are rightfully very angry about that and want to be heard. that sounds reasonable. but at the same time, there just doesn t seem to be enough time to add amendments to this bill, send it back to the house, have another debate in time for the june 5th deadline. i want to get out of the washington insider politico scene, and talk about all the americans out there, plenty of americans that government does not work for them, they don t trust the government. what do you say to that person ....
