A widening project on 81st Street between Memorial and Sheridan is underway this week. Over the next year, crews are going to widen 81st street to five lanes. That’s two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane. This $13.8 million project will also bring sidewalks to both sides of the street and bike lanes, as well as a new bridge over Little Haikey Creek.
