The Uttar Pradesh Government on Friday told the Supreme Court that it has withdrawn recovery notices issued against anti-CAA protestors to recover the damage caused to public properties.
SC had previously pulled up the state administration for violating set procedure; the court has now directed the UP gov't to refund amounts to people who had be forced to pay damages under the withdrawn notices
The Supreme Court has asked the Uttar Pradesh government to withdraw the recovery notices issued to the alleged anti-CAA protesters in December 2019 while observing that the proceedings were contrary to the law laid down by it.
