Village told it would have to pay costs of a school patrol crossing

A SCHOOL crossing patrol could be reinstated at Pool-in-Wharfedale - but only if the village picks up the tab.
Pool has been without a school crossing for years but some residents have been pushing for the service - a warden used to help children cross on Main Street - to be re-introduced.
Councillor Barry Anderson (Con, Adel & Wharfedale) has been given an update on how likely that is to happen. He has been told by a Leeds City Council (LCC) officer that an audit of traffic in the area, to see if a patrol would be justified, could be carried out if requested.

Covid 'heat map' figures for Leeds | Wharfedale Observer

THE OTLEY and Yeadon ward currently has one of the lowest rates of COVID-19 in the whole of Leeds.
Leeds City Council has issued new figures which give a weekly breakdown of the recorded cases per 100,000 people across the city between October 1 and December 9.
The ward ‘heat map’ shows that Otley and Yeadon had an incidence rate of just over 81 in 100,000 during the week of December 3 to December 9.
That makes it fourth lowest overall out of the city’s 33 wards.
Adel & Wharfedale, which includes Bramhope, Pool-in-Wharfedale and Arthington, has fared even better and has an incidence rate of 76.9 for the same week - the second lowest in Leeds, only bettered by Wetherby whose rate is just 49.2.
