Detective Lance Corporal Kwame Adu Asabereh, a police officer stationed at the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Headquarters, Accra, has been hauled to an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly helping a British prisoner to escape. The suspect is facing three counts – forgery of official document, abetment of crime, namely prisoner escape and corruption by a Public officer, which are contrary to the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (Act 29). He has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
