Republicans criticize Nessel's 'sweetheart deal' for Eric Smith – Macomb Daily
State Sen. Jim Runestad of White Lake said at a news conference Thursday that Smith is receiving special, favorable treatment from fellow Democrat Nessel by allowing him to plead guilty to only three of 10 felony counts he faces, serve only one year incarceration, pay minimal restitution and still be able to collect most of his pension.
