Infamous Peoria painting, 'Nymphs and Satyr,' finds a new home
PEORIA — After a lot of wrestling and sweating by work crews, a massive and infamous painting has been maneuvered to a new home. "Nymphs and Satyr," the risque artwork that almost got whacked by Carrie Nation's hatchet, is now on display at WTVP, 101 State St., Peoria's Public Broadcasting Service station. The move of the cumbersome piece brings the 9- by 12-foot painting back into the public eye after years of oft-darkness.
