’s net profit more than doubled to RM124.79mil in the first quarter ended March 31, 2021 (1Q21), from RM58.46mil in the same period a year ago.
The home improvement store recorded revenue of RM870.2mil in the first quarter, up 62.9%, or RM336.1mil compared to RM534.1mil recorded in the corresponding quarter in the preceding year.
The significant increase in revenue was mainly driven by an increase in average monthly sales per store, as well as a 25.5% increase in the number of stores, from 628 in 1Q20 to 788 in 1Q2021.
Correspondingly, the total transaction for the period increased by 21.7% from 24.6 million to 29.9 million. ....

KUALA LUMPUR (April 30): Mr DIY Group (M) Bhd said its net profit more than doubled to RM124.79 million for the first quarter ended March 31, 2021 (1QFY21), from RM58.46 million a year earlier, following substantially higher sales.
Revenue jumped 62.93% to RM870.18 million from RM534.09 million for 1QFY20, amid a 25.5% increase in the number of stores to 788 from 628 and higher average monthly sales per store.
Total transactions rose 21.7% year-on-year to 29.9 million from 24.6 million, the group added in its bourse filing.
On a quarter-on-quarter basis, net profit rose 15.26% to RM124.79 million from RM108.27 million in 4QFY20, while revenue increased 13.3% to RM870.18 million from RM768.33 million. ....

The long-awaited legal battle between
Fortnite developer Epic Games and Apple finally goes to trial next week, and the witness list is stacked.
Fortnite the boot from the App Store after Epic Games revealed it would be bypassing the 30% revenue cut that both the App Store and Google Play store takes when players purchase V-Bucks in
Fortnite. In a statement, Epic Games said,
“If Apple or Google lower their fees on payments in the future, Epic will pass along the savings to you.”

Next week, Epic Games and Apple will appear in court for a long-anticipated legal battle. Epic argues that Apple unfairly kicked its hit game
Fortnite off the App Store last year, exercising an illegal monopoly over the ubiquitous iOS platform. Apple claims Epic is trying to break the iOS platform’s vaunted safety and security for its own gain. Both parties have laid out how they expect to win their respective cases, and this week, they’ve provided near-final lists of the people they expect to call for testimony.
