ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) Two teenagers are now charged with murder after police say they set a man on fire inside his home. That man, Steven Amenhauser, died at 4 o’clock Tuesday morning.
Police arrested a 16-year-old and a 14-year-old and police say the 14-year-old has been arrested three times in the past seven months.
14-year-old Adriel Riley Junior was charged with robbery in Gates in September. Gates PD says it was a robbery at knifepoint in a parking lot in Chili Avenue. The Gates Police Department ticketed Riley’s mother for endangering the welfare of a child because they say she rented a hotel room for him in Gates and left him unsupervised. ....

Two teens have been charged with murder after an Upstate New York man was “intentionally” set on fire in his home.
WROC reports Steven Amenhauser, 53, died Tuesday after suffering second- and third-degree burns on more than 70% of his body Friday at his Rochester apartment. He was being treated at the University of Rochester Medical Center’s Kessler Burn & Trauma Center when he succumbed to his injuries four days later.
Rochester Police say Zayvion Perry, 16, and Adriel Riley, Jr., 14, both from Rochester, doused the victim with a flammable liquid and set him on fire as he sat in his chair. They were initially charged with arson and assault in connection to the incident but after Amenhauser died, the Monroe County District Attorney’s office elevated the charges to second degree murder. ....

Frank Umbrino said during a Tuesday press conference said that while inside his apartment, Amenhauser was doused with a flammable liquid as he sat in a chair and then set on fire.
The victim was rushed to University of Rochester Medical Center’s Kessler Burn & Trauma Center with second- and third-degree burns over 70 per cent of his body.
After clinging to life for three days, Amenhauser succumbed to his injuries at around 4am on Tuesday.
Umbrino said Amenhauser was in declining health and
‘vulnerable.’ He was not related to his suspected attackers but knew them. ....
