Adventist Health partnering with food bank to distribute meals


Adventist Health/Rideout is partnering with the Yuba-Sutter Food Bank to provide a Christmas dinner for up to 3,500 households, according to Adventist Health Director of Community Well-Being Ashten Phillips.
Phillips reached out to Food Bank CEO Michelle Downing about what it had planned about delivering meals to vulnerable members of the community.
“I wanted to know if we could partner on an initiative to provide a substantial Christmas dinner to individuals and families in our community,” Phillips said in an email. “Between the incredible contribution of the food bank and the remarkable matching contribution given to the food bank by the Rideout Foundation and the Rideout Foundation board members, we together will be able to provide a substantial Christmas dinner to many individuals in our community.” ....

Kings County receives first COVID-19 vaccine shipment, will be delivered to Adventist hospital on Friday
According to state data, Kings County has seen 2,200 new cases of the virus over the last 14 days.

HANFORD, Calif. (KFSN) Kings County received its first shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday, one day after Tulare County received its supply.
Officials at Kings County Public Health say the vaccine will be a powerful tool in the fight against COVID-19, adding that vaccinating frontline healthcare workers first will ensure they re able to provide critical care during the winter surge.
According to state data, the county has seen 2,200 new cases of the virus over the last 14 days, including 500 at the Substance Abuse Treatment Facility in Corcoran. ....
