Look who’s just been in court from Barry A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court. RYAN LEIGH HARVEY, 29, of Broughton Place, Barry, was jailed for 16 weeks, suspended for 12 months, after he pleaded guilty to causing actual bodily harm. He was ordered to pay his victim £1,000 compensation and a £115 surcharge and £85 costs. DONNA PEART, 37, of Jewel Street, Barry, was banned from driving for 22 months after she admitted driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance. She must complete a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement and pay £220 in a fine, costs and a surcharge. LOURA VENTRICE-PAGE, 35, of Columbus Close, Barry, was banned from driving for six months after she admitted driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance. ....
Anthony Kocus, 34, from Barry, admitted committing the offence in the town’s Maes Yr Ysgol. At Cardiff Crown Court, he pleaded guilty to having a bladed article in public on December 27, 2020. Judge David Wynn Morgan granted Kocus, who had been remanded in custody, unconditional bail. But he warned him that he could be facing a jail term for the offence. Kocus, of Aeron Close, was represented by his barrister Adam Sharp. Rosamund Rutter appeared for the prosecution. The defendant is due to be sentenced on February 23. The court was told he has previous convictions for public disorder and criminal damage. ....
