World Vision India Reinforces the Importance of Coordinated and Effective Mental Health Response during Emergencies. As the rains continued, more and more families were trapped at relief camps, mostly in schools. Their children, who used to happily play around the communities, had to spend the whole day at the classrooms, their new houses, and the corridors. One classroom was shared by several families. Lack of space, clothes, food and sleep made children bored and impatient. World Vision India, along with Childline, conducted special programmes to engage children, in more than six relief camps in Wayanad. Children were taught songs and stories. Through games and activities, children got a platform to come together and get to know each other. “This camp alone has six different blocks and there are lots of children like us in every block. Through this programme we got new friends in other blocks. We play together at the school ground in the evenings, if there is no rain,” says Ab
