The proposal to change the name, tabled by Mayor Prashant Singhal in a recent meeting, received support from all councillors, ANI tweeted. Should the Uttar Pradesh government give the green light to this name change, it will be another addition to the growing list of renamed places in the state, following the high-profile transition of Allahabad to Prayagraj in January 2019.
