Photo: THOMAS YONG JOHOR BARU: A Science teacher has been charged at the Sessions Court here with allegedly cheating his fellow teachers out of more than RM250,000 in an investment scheme. Mohd Hairulnizam Wahab, 39, claimed trial after a total of 12 charges were read to him in front of judge Ahmad Fuad Othman here on Thursday (May 27). According to the charge sheet, Mohd Hairulnizam was accused of accepting deposits of between RM10,000 and RM49,700 from 12 people amounting to RM284,200 for an investment scheme despite not having a license under Section 10 of the Financial Services Act 2013. He was alleged to have committed 11 of the offences at a school in Kota Masai while one was committed at a shop near Bukit Dahlia in Pasir Gudang between May and November 2014.

JOHOR BARU: Eleven men pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court here for unauthorised possession of subsidised cooking oil - a controlled item in Malaysia - as well as for attempting to resell the item. All of the accused, which included three Malaysians, nodded their heads after two charges were read out to them in front of Sessions Court Judge, Ahmad Fuad Othman, here on Thursday (May 6). The three locals are A. Halim Main, 42, R. Kalisamy, 50, dan B. Saravanan, 28 while the foreigners, all Bangladeshi nationals, are Omar Ali, 34, Rokey, 34, S. M. Mahasin, 34, Muhammad Mansur Alam Sultan Ahmad, 34, Mohamad Saiful Islam Faridul Alam, 23, Kubirahmat Abdul Salam, Md. Atiqur Haja Mahuiddin and Haque Haju.
