Hollywood stars shooting film in downtown Hartford

Hartford's downtown denizens may spot celebrity actors in the area over the next few weeks, as Elizabeth Banks, Sigourney Weaver and others are in town shooting a film about the 1960s-era abortion movement.

The two actors were shooting scenes for "Call Jane" in front of the newly-renovated apartment building on 28 High St. Tuesday, after spending last week filming around Charter Oak Place last week. Publicist Peter Silbermann said the film takes place in 1960s Chicago.

"Hartford is perfect to double Chicago in the '60's," Silbermann said.
