Researchers found that excessive drinking can lead to muscle loss and frailty with aging.
A new study shows that people who are heavy drinkers face an increased risk of muscle loss and frailty later in life. The researchers defined heavy drinking as 10 units of alcohol — one bottle of wine or 4–5 pints of beer — per day.
According to the study, drinking alcohol became a problem when people were drinking 10 or more units a day, equivalent to a bottle of wine or four or five pints.
