a bad week in air travel, right? this incident didn t involve southwest but a delta flight. it ended safely but tense moments in the sky for 274 passengers and 14 crew when smoke started billowing out of the right or second engine mid flight. the delta jet had just departed from atlanta. it was bound for london before turning around and making an emergency landing in atlanta. the airport tweeting shortly after 6:00 p.m. smoke was reported coming from the engine of a departing aircraft. it immediately returned to atl. units hosed down the engine. the aircraft is being towed with passengers back to the concourse. the engine never caught fire. no one was hurt. while an inconvenience to passengers touching down safely obviously the most important. we knew there was something going on. you could tell by the reaction of the flight attendants. ....
Chicago o hare s airport tweeting out the full arsenal hoff snow equipment is still battling snow to keep runways open and more than 900 flights have been cancelled at midway. so you can imagine 1,200 flights. with we know the backlog of one cancelled flight. so the airports in chicago are a big headache, bill. bill: how is it where you are? six, eight inches? what do you have? yes, a great estimate. at least six to eight inches here. the forecast called for up to 14 feet across the chicagoland. i m not sure exactly what the totals are outside the city. the major arteries get plowed first and then the side streets, it takes awhile for plows to get to them. we spoke to people earlier to talk about how they got on with their day. ....
