Are way beyond the page. there beyond the pale. i think this is a good thing it is coming out, but there is a differencethe page. beyond the pale. i think this is a good thing it is coming out, but there is a difference between what al franken was accused of and what roy moore was accused of, having do with mean or children. so i think there are a lot of people in alabama who don t want to have roy moore as senator. i think doug jones has a decent shot to win on tuesday. and i couldn t agree with the governor about roy amoore being toxic for the republican party for certain. howard, yesterday i spoke with a resident scholar at the american enterprise institute, also a long time friend of al franken. and we spoke about his resignation announcement. let s take a listen. i d trust him with my life. he is a remarkable human being. and i m uneasy very much about the way this whole thing played out. if we can t go through a process ....
Fair to al franken in some ways, but this is what happens when you bottle up a problem and nobody does anything about it and it finally comes up and there is an explosion and a lot of people are swept away. some should be, some shouldn t be, some should have done less things than others. but everybody gets swept away and that is what happened to al. in terms of values, susan, we have the senate election two days away now. the president is making a big pitch to voters for roy moore. i want to play a clip from his remarks at a rally friday night. here is that. we want people coming into our country who love our people, support our economy, and embrace our values. it is time to get our priorities straig straight. this guy is screaming we want roy whomoore. he is right. should the president be conflating republican values with a vote for roy moore? and you heard it earlier from roy moore s campaign strategist. ....
Derail. and within the congress, republicans do control these committees and the investigatory committees. and if they are able to delay that, then they want to ram through their political agenda. all of which is terrible public policy and very, very harmful to america s middle class and to our future. i want to ask you quickly about what is happening in al brahm right n am b alabama right now. shouldn t the democratic party have gotten on the ground earlier to try to galvanize african-american voters? it is my understanding that doug jones needs at least a turnout to match if not exceed that of barack obama s. well, i suspect that every african-american in alabama is very, very aware of what is at stake here. but also i think every voter in alabama is aware of the history of that state s elections where it s been almost 30 years since a democrat has won a statewide ....
Is it fair to be saying that this is president trump on trial in alabama? i don t think president trump should be talking about morals or values for anyone given his record just to put it simply. but let s also not forget he is now facing a 32% approval rating. just recently nbc put out a story that says that within one year, 5% less republicans from last year to this year identify with the republican party. that is a huge swing. president trump speaking for roy moore is the only card that roy moore has that can help get people to the polls. so for that purpose, i guess i understand why the president is out there. why the president can taking away the horrible accusations of child molestation, this is a candidate in roy moore that has been removed from the bench ....
Race. so it is a very steep uphill pull. there has been no lack of support for doug jones in this race. and i suspect that that certainly will continue on the ground. your reporter a few moments ago talked about the on the ground efforts that are being made by the democrats and several that will focus not only on the african-american community, but i think it will also focus in the suburban areas of alabama where there may be a chance to pull republicans over to the other side. all right. congressman, thank you so much. good to see you. considering the possibility, would the senate take action against roy moore if he comes out on top tuesday? people would stare. ....
