ONALASKA (WKBT)-- After waiting four years, Gundersen is taking a new approaching with renewable energy. The healthcare system is saving money and getting a microgrid.
Gundersen, a healthcare system in Onalaska, Wisconsin, is implementing a microgrid system that will enable them to use renewable energy for their campus and provide power during grid outages. The system, which includes solar and generator energy assets and a battery for storage and distribution, is expected to be operational by 2025.
The project was made possible in part by funding from the state Department of Administration.
