In interviews with the Detroit Lakes Tribune, Minnesota Senate District 2 candidates Steve Green, R, and Alan Roy, DFL, said they both believe in clearing out state-level regulatory red tape across a variety of policy initiatives, but that's where the similarities end, for the most part. One thing that will be guaranteed after the general election on Nov. 8; a member of the White Earth Nation will represent the expansive northern Minnesota district in the state senate, since both candidates are White Earth members.
District 2 now includes Red Lake, Leech Lake and White Earth, the three largest tribal nations in the state.
