BUSES are being made more accessible to vulnerable passengers as drivers become dementia friends. Swindon’s Bus Company is marking Dementia Action Week – May 17 to 23 – by completing training with the Alzheimer’s Society to ensure its services are more accessible. Swindon’s Bus Company is working with Swindon Stories in a bid to increase reading for pleasure by helping to distribute a special book to children living in the area. Run by the National Literacy Trust, Swindon Stories has taken delivery of some Choose Kind journals, which were donated so that youngsters can write their thoughts and make a commitment to do one wonderful thing everyday. There are 90 copies available at the bus company's travel shop in Fleming Way.
