Swindon’s Bus Company is making it easier to buy child bus tickets for five-to-15-year-olds through a new addition to its latest app. The move is in response to customer feedback, with those travelling by bus in-and-around the town asking for easy and instant access to child tickets through their mobile devices. Before activating their first child ticket through the app, customers can verify a child’s identification using a screenshot of a passport or birth certificate and a selfie of the youngster. Head of communication Nikki Honer said: “This verification is required because each ticket features a photo of its holder, it only has to be done once. ....
Swindon’s Bus Company has introduced a new app in which customers can track and plan their journeys with ease. The app offers customers the chance to tailor their travel plans, track their bus in real time, and buy their tickets instantly. Swindon’s Bus Company managing director Andrew Wickham has spoken about how this new app differs from previous iterations. He said: “Apps are not a new thing, we were one of the first operators to introduce one several years ago. But this is very different - a much improved concept in bus travel and ticketing, “The technology we’ve harnessed is so powerful that those travelling with us can completely personalise their app. That means they can save their regular journeys, choose how their home screen opens, mark bus stops or routes as their favourites, track exactly where their bus is at any given time and, of course, buy their tickets instantly.
