Face-off specialist James Ball (Yale), defenseman Brendan McCabe (Michigan), midfielder Michael Lynch (Notre Dame) and at least 10 other Flyers who are playing college lacrosse this spring will be cheering their younger teammates on this May. ....
Tue Apr 6 2021 | Laurel Pfahler | High School As we await more teams taking the field for the first time, two new teams join the Nike / US Lacrosse High School Boys’ National Top 25. This week, it’s Loyola Blakefield (Md.) and Ponte Vedra (Fla.) entering the fray. The Cubs opened with a 14-5 win over Westlake last week, entering the ranking at No. 21 as a result. Owen Gaffney led the offense with six goals, while Matt Gottfried was dominant in the faceoff circle to help Loyola gain a possession advantage. Ponte Vedra joins at No. 25 on the heels of a 13-0 start following a 19-2 win over Menendez (Fla.) on March 30 and a 15-6 victory over Episcopal School of Jacksonville (Fla.) last Thursday. ....
