Community. well, i think, you know, people start realizing that fat talk is happening everywhere. it s happening in the cafeteria and in our houses and around our friends and people are realizing, it really is an issue. we re constantly talking about it and getting ourselves down and so far we had a positive reaction. i talked to our council about it a few weeks ago and all the other sororities were excited to get involved and celebrating fat talk free week in their houses. alexis, good luck and thank you for taking time out from your academic schedule to talk to us. pat, it s interesting because we talk about it all the time and spend billions of dollars and now we find out that so many american adlts are overwaith and obese that it s threatening the ability to recruit as many people as we d like to in our military. there s such a disconnect, isn t there? in our society like ours and this used to be as of a few ....
Researchers. now, we re all guilty of this, asking our friends, do i look fat? on some college campuses don t bother asking because this week at least 35 college campuses are participating in fat talk free week. it s a national campaign focusing on body image and self-esteem. alexis sink is a senior at the university of cincinnati and i m joined by my company gop strategist pat buchanan and joy-ann reid. alexis let me start with you. what is behind this idea? you have only been at it for a day, but how is it going? the idea behind fat talk free week is just to raise awareness about body dissatisfaction in collegiate women and just kind of raise awareness and we re going to be doing some different activities on campus to promote a positive body image. what are people saying about this? i m sure folks are talking about it in the dorms and cafeteria. what is the feeling on how pervasive this is in the college ....
